Today we talk about quality of life, not only making a living. Yet cases that fall through the cracks of welfare still happen, and small organizations of people with disabilities remain sidelined because of public attitudes.
Sunshine Dream began from that place. We were established in 2023 to carry out work that changes society together with people with severe disabilities. Our goal is for people with severe disabilities to take part in the community and live independently, excluded by no one. To get there, we work to change discriminatory structures in society, and we plan and carry out employment projects and sustainable projects.
Sunshine Dream is a small association with one full-time staff member. We work through agenda-setting, solidarity and pilot projects, not through size.
Our decision-making bodies are the general assembly (the highest body, made up of all members), the board of directors (five directors including the chairperson, and one auditor), and the secretariat (one secretary-general). The board is made up of practitioners and leaders in independent living, youth, human rights and culture, children, and older people.

We chose our current symbol in April 2025. It carries the three lines of our slogan, and the ground they stand on, in four images: sun, flower, leaf and hill.
The yellow sun
Like sunlight that falls on everyone alike, we ask for the same starting line for everyone.
